25. Gazing Into Each Other's Eyes

Now she's dry and in some of the clothes she has at his apartment, they're lying on his bed, face-to-face. Hunter just wants to be impossibly close to her. He's missed having her at his apartment the past week.

He's hated not having her there. As soon as she had left after their stupid fight he knew he should have gone after her, but stubborn pride had stopped him.

That was the past though. She was here now and that was what mattered and he was going to make up for the time she hadn't been. He doesn't want to let her go and she needs to know that.

Their legs are entwined, knotted together keeping each other warm and he strokes his hand up and down her spine easily.

"Don't fall asleep on me." He laughs nudging her forehead with his nose and kissing it.

She's so contented lying there, looking at him with those big blue eyes that he loves so much, how they're a little bit green in the artificial light of his bedroom. And lined with long dark eyelashes. He knows he could stare at them for hours.

That they could lie together in easy silence like this. Not kissing, touching only with hands and fingers and lips. Watching each other staring into the eyes of the other unable to look away and not wanting too.

As she's lying there, her hair tousled and damp from the rain, her eyes a little bloodshot and tired, he's never seen her look more open in his life. With her hair framing her face in a mess of blonde, she's beautiful to him and he wants to frame this moment for the rest of time.
